എക്‌സ്പ്രസ് ട്രെയിനുകളില്‍ സീസണ്‍ ടിക്കറ്റ് സൗകര്യം അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതിനെപ്പറ്റിയും ഡീ-റിസര്‍വേഷനെപ്പറ്റിയും സതേണ്‍ റെയില്‍വേ പബഌക് റിലേഷന്‍സ് ഓഫീസര്‍ വിശദമായ കുറിപ്പ് ഇറക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരു വ്യക്തിക്ക് ഒരു സീസണ്‍ ടിക്കറ്റേ അനുവദിക്കുകയുള്ളു.

JOURNEY WITH SEASON TICKET IN EXPRESS TRAINS

Railway season ticket is a facility extended by Indian Railways for regular travelers in a particular section covering up to a maximum distance of 150 kms. An individual can avail only one season ticket at a given time. Splitting of season ticket in to two or more to cover a wider area is a punishable offence.

As per rules, a season ticket holder whether (1st class or II class ) is not permitted to board a reserved coach. However in Thiruvananthapuram Division alone selected coaches in few trains as given under are declared as de-reserved coaches, where travel by season ticket is permitted.

Thiruvananthapurm Division issues 1st class season tickets with a direction to use them in Parasuram express or Venad express alone , where un reserved First class coaches are available. Travel by First class season ticket holders in First class, or any of the reserved coaches including sleeper coaches of other express trains even after taking supplementary ticket is not permitted.

All season ticket holders including those who posses a valid first class season ticket is bound to travel by general coaches in case a particular train does not have a de-reserved coach.

As per the latest guidelines from government all reserved first class and air conditioned class passengers must posses a valid photo identity card during travel and are bound to produce it for verification when on demand by an authorised Railway servant.

De-reserved coaches:

1. Tr. No. 16382, Kanyakumari- Mumbai CST Jayanthi Jantha Exp : Coaches, S5, S6, S7 and S8 are de-reserved between Kanyakumari and Ernakulam Stations and coaches S9 and S10 are de-reserved between stations Ernakulam and Palakkad junction.
2. Tr. No. 16525, Kanyakumari- Bangalore City Island express : Coaches S3 and S4 are de-reserved from Nagercoil to Ernakulam and Coach S12 is de-reserved between Nagercoil and Palakkad.
3. Tr. No. 16329, Thiruvananthapuram- Mangalore Central Malabar express : Coaches S6 is de-reserved from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Kottayam.
4. Tr. No. 16330, Mangalore Central - Thiruvananthapuram Malabar express : Coaches S5 and S6 are de-reserved between Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram.
5. Tr. No. 13352, Alappuzha-Dhanbad express: Coaches S2, S4, ST3 and ST5 are de-reserved from Alappuzha and Perambur.
6. Tr. No. 12624, Thiruvananthapuram- Chennai Central Mail : Coaches S-10 and S-11are de-reserved from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Ernakulam Town.
7. Tr. No. 16042, Alappuzha - Chennai Central express : Coache S7 is de-reserved from Alappuzha to Palakkad.
8. Tr. No. 17229, Thiruvananthapuram-Hydrabad Sabari express : Coaches S11, S12 and S13 are de-reserved from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Coimbatore Junction.

On the issue of alleged misbehavior with lady passenger by TTEs on 17th February 2012, It has been found that the lady passenger was travelling unauthorisedly by Train No. 12696, Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Central superfast express. This fact has been established, based on an undertaking given by the passenger at the time of first issue of season ticket to her. Procedural lapses if any for the issue of season ticket or permitted to travel after the issue of season ticket is being examined for remedial action. The Railway can take action under service conduct rules with respect to the civil complaint by the passenger subject to the action initiated by Kerala state Police.
